Custom moulding work becomes easier when the buyer sends clear profile information before asking for quotation, sampling, or production review.
Start with the profile shape.
A custom moulding request should begin with the clearest available reference. This may be a technical drawing, a section drawing, a sample photo, an existing catalog reference, or a physical sample. If only a photo is available, include a ruler or written measurements so the scale is easier to understand.
The most important dimensions are usually width, thickness, length, and the visible profile shape. For door-related or wall-related products, also explain where the profile will be used so the product family can be identified correctly.
Do not rely on the surface color alone. A white primed profile may be baseboard, casing, door stop, jamb, quarter round, or another profile family.
Send material, finish, and application notes.
Buyers should describe whether the product is expected to be MDF, pine, finger-jointed wood, LVL, or another material. The same profile shape may need a different review path depending on material, finish, packing, and target market.
